“Rebuilding Trust, Raising Standards, Rekindling FIRE”

Over the past years, the Nursing Student Council has faced challenges that left behind unfulfilled promises, broken systems, and a weakened trust between the council and the student body. This year, we commit to break the cycle and build a lasting legacy of accountability, unity, and service.

Our advocacy is to establish a new standard for student leadership, one that is rooted in the DMSFI core values of Faith in God, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence (FIRE). Ensuring that every action, decision, and initiative reflects our mission to serve with transparency, compassion, and competence.

We aim to:

Standardize Council Systems – Implement clear, documented processes so that every future council inherits a functional, transparent, and accountable structure.

Restore Trust – Foster open communication, publish transparency reports, and actively engage with students in decision-making.

Lead by Example – Uphold the FIRE values not just in words, but in our work ethic, programs, and treatment of every student.

Create a Lasting Legacy – Leave behind a council that future leaders can be proud of, free from the mistakes of the past.
